So, for the past couple years, I have been supporting my family by working several under-the-table jobs, as I was told by my mental health professional that I would be better off finding something low-stress and close to home. I am now going back to full-time work, and I am dealing with anxiety and stress, both at work and in life, in part, through the art of uâtus, or Gaulish divination.

I pull a runos from Branos Carnutodrûidon’s Ueletorunoi system, which uses the 18 letters of the Lugano/Lepontic alphabet, and I focus on the meaning of that runos for the following day. As I perform my adaððoues, or rituals, after sunset each night (due to the Gaulish day starting at sunset, more on that here from Bessus Nouiogalation), I get to ponder the meaning of the runos I’ve pulled while at work, and then when I get home I get to meditate on it, sleep on it, and then go about the rest of my day focusing on that understanding that I’ve come to.

As these runoi are also used as a form of Soito, or Magic, I have been marking the runoi that I pull on my forearm where I can see them and feel the power of them, and, as the week progresses, an inscrîbatus forms. I intend to share these inscrîbatoi here, in equal parts both to document them for myself, and to share them (and the process of making them) with the world. Everything you need to know to begin using this form of uâtus and soito is available for free on Branos Carnutodrûidon’s website, and so without further preamble, I present the first week and inscrîbatus that I will share.

Inscrîbatus for the 4th week of Elembiuos:

XXV – Nertos, N

Entarlabarion (Interpretation): The strength that comes from around us; the need of fire, but we must ignite that fire ourselves; Self-reliance, hardship, poverty, will to overcome and take action.

Soito (Magic): Imposing restrictions on a situation; helps to provide a breakthrough in the building of strength.

XXVI – Mî, M

Entarlabarion: Divine consciousness in humankind; realizations of the truths of being human, and of the connections between inner and social themes; Awareness, receiving help from others, friends and family; Positive change through labour, toil, and the examination of life lessons.

Soito: Enforcing contracts and social bindings to bring people together; connecting to the divine

XXVII – Parios, P

Entarlabarion: The mysteries of the Great Cauldron, and the need to learn how to navigate the forces within; The knowledge that with death, comes life, and with life, death; Something unknown or lost, danger, choosing what is beneficial.

Soito: Lends help to make the unknown, known; Also helps to manifest unknown goals.

XXVIII – Parios, P

Entarlabarion: The mysteries of the Great Cauldron, and the need to learn how to navigate the forces within; The knowledge that with death, comes life, and with life, death; Something unknown or lost, danger, choosing what is beneficial.

Soito: Lends help to make the unknown, known; Also helps to manifest unknown goals.

Runuegon (Runoi Weaving):

Soito: Imposing restrictions on a situation and help with a breakthrough in the building of strength, enforcing contracts and social bindings to bring people together, connecting with the divine, revealing the unknown, manifesting unknown goals.

Uses: Off the top of my head this inscrîbatus can be used in the context of job interviews, difficulties with relationships in your life, and potentially even in devoting yourself to the Dêuoi, as the magical components, especially the connection with the divine and the manifesting of unknown goals, seem to point towards.

Could be used to impose restrictions on how much you’ll allow yourself to dwell on certain things, bring you closer to your support network, call on the Dêuoi for help and guidance, show you some of the unknown things going on behind the scenes in your mind that could be affecting your mental state, and could help in the manifestation of as-yet-unknown goals which could take some of the weight of the world off of your shoulders.
